Disney Channel has released a new teaser for Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, confirming Awkwafina as the voice of Chessy the Cat and revealing a July 16 premiere date. The film debuts on Disney Channel before streaming on Disney+ the following day.
What is ‘Descendants: Wicked Wonderland’ about?
According to the official description, now that the Queen of Hearts is nice and Cinderella is safe, “things seem perfect for Red and Chloe … but little do they know that changing the past created a new villain: Maddox Hatter. When Maddox captures the Queen of Hearts, Red and Chloe must work with Red’s new sister Pink, Luisa Madrigal’s son Luis, Captain Hook’s daughter Hazel, and Maddox’s son Max to save her and Wonderland.”
Who stars in ‘Descendants: Wicked Wonderland’?
Reprising their roles are Kylie Cantrall as Red, Malia Baker as Chloe, Leonardo Nam as Maddox Hatter, Melanie Paxson as Fairy Godmother, Paolo Montalban as King Charming, Rita Ora as the Queen of Hearts and Brandy as Cinderella. New cast members include Liamani Segura, Brendon Tremblay, Alexandro Byrd, Kiara Romero, Joel Oulette, Zavien Garrett, Ryan McEwen and Dayton Paradis.
Kimmy Gatewood directs from a script by Tamara Chestna, Dan Frey and Ru Sommer. Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh return as executive producers.
The Descendants: Wicked Wonderland original soundtrack arrives July 17 via Walt Disney Records.
