Steven Spielberg’s next film is a week away, and Colman Domingo is at the center of it.
Disclosure Day opens in theaters and IMAX from Universal Pictures. The sci-fi film stars Domingo alongside Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor and Colin Firth. The screenplay is by David Koepp, based on a story by Spielberg, with a score from John Williams, his 30th collaboration with the director. Amblin Entertainment produces.
The film’s official logline offers little. It states, “If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.”
Here’s what Colman Domingo has said so far about ‘Disclosure Day’
Speaking to Rotten Tomatoes, Domingo offered a window into the film’s underlying message. “I can tell you with my entire heart that it is one of the most hopeful films that anyone can see right now,” he said, describing it as a reflection of “Steven’s heart and his belief of what we could be if we invite the unknown in.”
For Domingo, the project marks his second collaboration with Spielberg, having previously appeared in Lincoln in 2012.
