Tubi has released the trailer for Stepfather, a new original thriller starring Taye Diggs and Tamar Braxton. Both also serve as executive producers on the film, produced by Footage Films Studios.
What is the film about?
Per the official description, the film follows Darnell (Diggs), who “after years of eradicating any family that falls short of perfection, believes his new wife Asia (Braxton) and her daughters might finally be the real deal. That is, until tensions rise and they uncover his deadly pattern. Now, getting rid of them won’t be as easy as he planned.”
As Variety initially reported, Diggs plays “a survivor of childhood abuse whose unresolved trauma turns into a twisted quest to recreate the perfect household he was once denied. When Darnell’s new family doesn’t meet his ideal expectations, he takes charge by eliminating them to start the search again for his ideal family.”
Who stars in ‘Stepfather’?
Alongside Diggs and Braxton, the cast includes Kalani Jules, Jessica Jarrell, Janeline Hayes, Dante Brown, Troy Brookins, TJ Shaw, Koda Kalani Beschen and Elizabeth Dantus. The film is directed by Chris Stokes from a script he co-wrote with Marques Houston, who also executive produces alongside Diggs and Braxton.
When does ‘Stepfather’ premiere?
Stepfather premieres June 19 on Tubi.
