Lifetime is expanding its June slate with two new original thrillers. The Jealous Bride, starring Amber Stevens West and Michael Xavier, premieres June 13, while Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs, led by two-time Grammy-nominated artist Remy Ma, debuts June 20.
The films join Lifetime’s previously announced June originals, including Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery starring Erica Campbell and Single Black Tenant headlined by Tia Mowry.
What is ‘The Jealous Bride’ about?
Per the official description, “As Meg (Amber Stevens West) prepares for her wedding, the sudden return of Simone (Donna Benedicto), a woman from her fiancé Josh’s (Michael Xavier) past, ignites a wave of jealousy she can’t contain. Consumed by doubt, Meg spirals into a perilous obsession that threatens to destroy her love, her faith, and her future.”
The Jealous Bride also stars Donna Benedicto.
The film is produced by Navid Soofi for Novus Pictures in association with Studio TF1 America and Shalom Canada Productions. Timothy O. Johnson, Joey Plager and Meghan Hooper White serve as executive producers. Troy A. Scott directs from a story by Nell Scovell and a script written by Nneka Gerstle.
The movie premieres Saturday, June 13 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
What is ‘Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs’ about?
Based on Liv Constantine’s novel My Sister’s Daughter, Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs stars Remy Ma alongside Garfield Wilson.
Per the official description, “Remy Ma stars as Ashley Preston, a woman forced to confront her past when her life begins to unravel. After the sudden death of her estranged sister, Ashley and her husband Elliot (Wilson) open their home to her orphaned teenage niece, Serena (Aliyah Marc), hoping to offer her a fresh start. But when a series of disturbing incidents begins to escalate, Ashley is left questioning everything and everyone. Is Serena acting out in grief? Or is Ashley’s own daughter, Luna (Sasha Rojen), whose troubled past still lingers, hiding something far more dangerous? As tensions mount and trust erodes, Ashley must uncover the truth before the threat inside her home turns deadly.”
The film also stars Aliyah Marc and Sasha Rojen.
Rohm Feifer Entertainment continues its collaboration with Lifetime following films including The Dating App Killer: The Monica White Story, Wife Stalker and Husband, Father, Killer: The Alyssa Pladl Story.
Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs is produced by Navid Soofi for Studio TF1 America Inc. in association with Rohm Feifer Entertainment. Kara Feifer, Elisabeth Rohm, Timothy O. Johnson and Meghan Hooper White serve as executive producers. David Weaver directs from a script by Crystal Verge.
The psychological thriller premieres Saturday, June 20 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
